Richard Perez-Roa

PROFESOR TIEMPO COMPLETO AUXILIAR 1

Biografía

Richard Perez-Roa was born in the city of El Piñal, Venezuelan. He obtained a degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Simon Bolivar University (USB), Venezuela in 2007. In 2008, he started as Geophysicist in Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) and I work there for 10 years. In 2015 he obtained his MSc Diploma in Geophysics from Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and is currently a PhD candidate in Physics from the Faculty of Sciences of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). His doctoral thesis project is focused on Joint Petrophysical Full Waveform Inversion of Seismic Data Applied to Oil and Gas Reservoirs.

Between 2018 and 2021 he worked for several universities between Ecuador and Venezuela teaching Physics and Geophysics courses. In November 2021, he started as a Researcher Professor at the School of Earth Sciences, Energy and Environment in Yachay Tech University where he teaches classes for Geology degrees.

Research interest

My research is focused on the geological characterization of reservoirs combining Seismic Methods, Rock Physics and Petrophysics. Other areas where he investigated is in the theory of the inverse problem applied to Geophysics and Near Surface Geophysics for Geological, Geotechnical and environmental applications.
