Biografía

Patricia Avendaño Ph.D was born in Bucaramanga – Colombia and obtained her degree in Chemistry at Industrial University of Santander (UIS) in 2003. In 2015 she obtained her PhD degree in Exact Sciences – Chemical Area at National University of La Plata (UNLP), her research focused on the synthesis of 2-trifluoromethylchromones and their derivatives, as well as their structural study and reactivity.
She has worked as a teacher at the University of Pamplona (UP) in Colombia, and at the Technical University of Ambato (UTA). She is currently a member in the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Engineering, at Yachay Tech.

Research Interests

Synthesis of new chromone derivatives, their physicochemical and structural characterization. In addition, she has participated in projects such as the development of biodegradable films from banana flour, in the determination of the relationship between saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in foods for mass consumption and in the evaluation of corrosion in multiphase systems.
