Oscar Chimborazo, Ph.D.

OCCASIONAL PROFESSOR 2

Biografía

Oscar Chimborazo was born in Ambato Ecuador. His undergrad degree is in Physics at Escuela Politécnica Nacional in Quito, Ecuador. He obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences at the State University of New York, United States. Oscar has worked in various companies including jobs as a printer technician, teacher, and researcher. He has been involved in atmospheric phenomena research for more than a decade. He joined the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Ecuador (INAMHI) in 2009 working as member of the numerical modeling group until 2012. During this period he helped to implement mesoscale models to simulate weather and climate in Ecuador, as well as conducting climate change studies based on regional models.
