Marol Navarrete

I am a Biotechnology Engineer from Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESPE). I completed my undergraduate thesis at the Centro de Investigación en Biotecnología (CIB) of Tecnológico de Costa Rica, where I worked on the optimization of gamma irradiation-induced mutagenesis and the selection of aluminum-tolerant sugarcane (Saccharum sp.) mutant lines. My experience includes plant tissue culture, micropropagation, in vitro conservation, and laboratory management. I have also contributed to the implementation of biosafety practices. My current research interests focus on plant tissue culture, ex situ plant conservation (seeds, pollen, or other germplasm), cryopreservation, and the sustainable use of plant genetic resources.
