PhD in Physics, University of Texas at Austin, U.S.A. (1990). Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Toronto, Canada (1990-1992). Master in Physics, University of California, Santa Barbara, U.S.A. (1984). Licenciado in Physics, Universidad Central de Venezuela, Caracas (1980). Instructor, Faculty of Sciences, Universidad Central de Venezuela (1980-1982). Full Professor, Universidad de Los Andes, Mérida, Venezuela, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (1993-2018). Founder and Director of the Research Group on Chaos and Complex Systems at Universidad de Los Andes. Supervisor of dozens of PhD, MSc, and Licenciatura thesis. Responsible of many research projects. Invited Professor and Visiting Scientist at universities and research centers in various countries. Invited speaker at several international scientific conferences. Member of organizing committees of international conferences. Since 2018, Temporary Professor at Universidad Yachay Tech, Ecuador. Director of the research group “Grupo Interdisciplinario de Sistemas Complejos”.
