Luis Corredor

Profesor Ocasional 1

Biografía

Luis Corredor was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He studied at the University of Zulia in his hometown, during this undergraduate period he had the opportunity to do internships and his special degree project at the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC), where he gained experience in the organic synthesis of natural products area, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2006.

During the years 2006 and 2008, he worked as a contracted researcher at IVIC. Since 2009, he worked at the Zulian Institute of Technological Research (INZIT), where he was a researcher for more than 5 years, during which he developed a great interest in X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and nanotechnology.

In 2011, he attended the University of Montpellier 2 in France for three consecutive years as a student of the binational PCP France-Venezuela postgraduate project, where he expanded his knowledge about the synthesis, characterization, and manipulation of carbon nanotubes grown with preferential orientation. Furthermore, in his master’s degree, he focused on the study of catalytic conditions for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes.

In 2016, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry, also from the University of Zulia, Venezuela. Subsequently, he emigrated to Ecuador and currently works as an occasional professor 1 at the School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering at the Yachay Experimental Technology Research University. He is also in the process of completing his doctoral studies, where he ventured into the study of structured carbon-based materials applied to energy storage.
