Biografía

Josie holds a master’s degree in English Literature from Western Carolina University in North Carolina, USA. She spent several years as a writing and rhetoric instructor at various public post-secondary institutions in the United States before receiving a CELTA certification in 2015 through International House in Ecuador. She also completed a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Appalachian State University in North Carolina, and, before becoming a teacher, spent several years working with at-risk youth. She has been teaching English at Yachay Tech since September 2016.

Research Interests

Her research interests include exploring the intersections between postcolonial theory and English language teaching and learning, heritage language acquisition, and active learning.
