Biografía
Cristian David Panchana Guerra was born in Quito, Ecuador. He graduated from the National Polytechnic School in 2015, getting a degree in Geological Engineering. His final degree project was the “Study of the Domes of the Quilotoa Volcano and its Correlation with the Stratigraphy of the Volcano”. His professional experience began in the Area of Volcanology at the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School.
Later, in 2017, he worked as Assistant Supervisor at Kluane Drilling Ecuador. He joined Yachay Tech University in November 2019. He was part of the academic team responsible for the creation of the Agroindustry career. He has been a teacher for two years of the subjects Laboratory of Geology I and II. Moreover, he completed a Continuing Education Certificate in Leadership in October 2021, and he graduated from the International University of La Rioja – Spain, getting a Master’s Degree in Astrophysics and Observation Techniques in Astronomy. The Master’s Thesis developed was the “Affect of Soil Change in the Atmosphere near the surface of Mars” using meteorological data from the REMS instrument, an instrument located on NASA’s Curiosity rover on Mars.
Finally, since October 2021, he is the Alternate Coordinator of pre-professional practices of the School of Earth, Energy and Environment Sciences; and also he has been in charge of the Thin Section Laboratory, and of the Sample Preparation and Grinding Laboratory.
