Yachay Tech University is placed among the top 25 universities in the Scientific Publications with International Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Scientific Publications categories of the U-Multirank world university ranking. U-Multirank is an independent ranking financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission. The ranking assesses more than 1,600 universities in 95 countries, with eleven categories related to five main criteria: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and regional engagement.
Yachay Tech won the first place in the category of Scientific Publications with International Collaboration, surpassing universities with extensive experience such as the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. In addition, Yachay Tech ranks 16th behind institutions like the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen, Germany. To rank the university, U-Multirank took into account its publications that are available in international databases.
U-Multirank is an information source based on the needs of students looking for a higher education institution. Therefore, it established various rankings according to different criteria. In addition, it compares institutions with similar characteristics in terms of years of operation, academic degrees offered, areas of knowledge in which they work on, number and proportion of graduates, and international students. This means that, through the ranking, students who have an interest in the indicated categories will be able to find Yachay Tech as an option for their studies.
U-Multirank selects the universities through a consortium led by the Center for Higher Education in Germany, the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies at the University of Twente, and the Center for Science and Technology Studies from Leiden University, both in the Netherlands. In addition, the ranking has the support of the Foundation for Knowledge and Development in Spain and is financed by the Bertelsmann Stiftung Foundation from Germany, Santander Bank and Erasmus+.
