The course is targeted to high school professors and seeks to make teaching Physics more energized through didactic resources.
The School of Physical Sciences and Nanotechnology of Yachay Tech University and Epicentro Public Company organized the course Creative Physics: innovative research and teaching strategies. The event, supported by the Ministry of Education, is being held in Ibarra from August 26 to 30, 2019. The purpose of this workshop is to contribute to the updating of knowledge of high school teachers and is part of the University’s community engagement strategy through continuous education programs.
More than 40 teachers from the northern part of Ecuador will take part in the first edition of this course. Attendees will participate in theoretical-practical seminars on didactic strategies and resources to improve the teaching-learning process. Moreover, teachers will go over how research and development are applied into solving everyday problems.
The courses will be taught by Iván Aleaga, Msc, Eduardo Estévez, Msc, Carlos Reinoso, Msc, and Juan Lobos, Ph.D., all members of the School of Physical Sciences and Nanotechnology. The topics they will cover include: Theory of knowledge, Pedagogy and teaching, Experimentation and creative development, all applied to Physics, and Applied Physics and Nanotechnology.
Creative Physics: innovative research and teaching strategies is part of the continuous teaching programs that Yachay Tech conducts as part of its community engagement strategy. By the end, attendees will receive a certificate for their 40 hours of training, which include the seminars and autonomous work.
