The Yachay Tech team will departure to London for the regional finals of Hult Prize
Marlon Gancino, Pablo Contreras, Joseph Cobo and David Clavijo, members of the MedWeb team, were invited to have tea at the British Embassy in Ecuador. The reason for this invitation was to have farewell and extend the best whishes to the team that will be departing to London on monday for the Hult Prize regional finals. The team won Yachay Tech’s internal contest and now will have to present their proposal to a jury on Hult Business School.
MedWeb is a database and a medical app destined to help refugees obtain a proper medical attention. The 3rd and 5th semester students created it to respond to the Hult Prize 2017 Challenge. Hult Prize is the most important university competition in the world. It offers a million dollars to the team that presents a viable and rentable solution to their year challenge. This year the problem stated by Hult Prize Foundation has to do with giving dignity to refugees around the world.
The contest began on thousands of universities around the world, now the winners of this competition have to present their projects on the regional finals in London, Boston, San Francisco, Dubai and Shanghai. The regional winners will have a preparation stage to present their project on the Clinton Foundation annual meeting in August.
Other team participating in the regional finals is Iyayku, also of Yachay Tech students. They will present their project on San Francisco. The team proposes the creation of a water filter based on the Moringa Oleifera seed. This would allow refugees to have access to clean and purified water. The members of the team are Emilia Calle, Antoni Páez, Bruno Sandoval, Paul Silva y Andrés Vega.
