For four days, Yachay Tech students took part in the III edition of “Spirit Yachay Tech 2021”, an event that allows them to present their academic and research potential through conferences.
The event, organized by the Yachay Tech University Student Association (AEYT), featured a cycle of virtual talks with different modalities and interventions by the different schools of Yachay Tech, presentations of scientific projects and publications, and interventions by university clubs.
This third edition also included the Second Video Contest, whose theme was “Did you know that YT …?” The goal was for participants to present relevant projects and curious facts that make Yachay Tech an academic benchmark at a national and international level.
The event was attended by around 76 direct actors that included speakers, participants in the video contest, moderators and special guests. Its 6 organizers, Carlos Lara Romero, María José Espinoza, Andrea Palacio, Brenda Guanulema, Rashell Mayacela and Dayana Baque are part of the AEYT Committee on Culture, Sports and Community.
According to María Belén Terán, President of the Student Association, Spirit Yachay Tech 2021 is a space that allows: “To capture the different perspectives and project the essence of the technological and scientific development of Yachay Tech and of each of the members of the academic community. The third edition of this event seeks to achieve a historical milestone on a national and international scale as it will present a new vision of how the university has been consolidating during its seven years of operation. This event is a window for the world to understand the social, academic and technological impact of Yachay Tech”.
According to the data and registration on social networks, the event reached on average 700 people per day.
José María Lalama, Rector and President of the Supervisory and Institutional Strengthening Commission (CIFI) of Yachay Tech, also took part in the event and stated that: “It is gratifying to be part of this event that is important for you and our university. I want to express once again our appreciation for all your work focused on science, technology and innovation issues that made possible the III edition of Spirit Yachay Tech 2021”.
Lalama also pointed out that: “Spirit Yachay is a unique and vital space that has been successfully managed within the institution with the participation of the university community. It has become the showcase of valuable research, academic and cultural work that our students conduct day by day together with their professors. This strategy unites us with even more determination, and we are convinced that in order to promote greater mobility and visibility of the knowledge that we generate within our university, it is essential for our research work to be recognized”.
Thus, Spirt Yachay Tech is a space that allows capturing the different perspectives and projecting the essence of the technological and scientific development that the University and the members of the academic community represent for the country.
