Innomaps is an initiative that seeks to bring together entrepreneurs or small and medium producers or businesses, with their potential nearby clients by offering their products or services through an interactive map. This way, it can contribute to the economy of all those who have been affected by the health crisis that the country and the world are experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This initiative, which you can access for free, was developed by Nanotechnology, Biology and IT students of Yachay Tech University. They believed that by creating this platform they could contribute to those who have had to suspend their economic activities and to those in a vulnerable situation that have been affected by movement restrictions.
To access this interactive map, you must create a free account at www.inno-maps.com/covid19 and publish the product or service to be offered depending on its category. Thus, if you need or want to buy products such as medicine, or if you need delivery or transportation; you can contact directly those who offer such services, solving their needs and helping each other.
At the moment, the interactive map Innomaps has coverage in the provinces of Cotopaxi and Imbabura and in the cities of Cuenca, Guayaquil, Loja, Quito and Riobamba; but they hope very soon to be able to georeference all the provinces of Ecuador.
This geoanalytical tool, designed by Ecuadorian students, seeks new and greater economic opportunities in the country to consolidate new digital ways of doing business. (PSP)
