Yachay Tech organizes the second edition of their Innovation Day, Mushuna16. This event will take place on the 25th of November. It is organized by both Faculty and Students of the School of Social Sciences and Innovation. The main goal of Mushuna16 is to give students a space to introduce innovation projects that aim to solve a challenge, given by the sponsoring companies.
Mushuna will count with the sponsorship of Yachay City of Knowledge, United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Andes, ITempresarial and Cisco Systems. Each one of the sponsors represents a category: Smart Cities, Ecology, Miscellaneous and Internet of Things, respectively. The participants must solve a challenges presented in each category to receive a prize from the sponsor organization.
In addition, Mushuna 16 will be the hosting event for Yachay Tech’s internal Hult Prize contest. Hult Prize is the biggest university competition around the world and, this year, it arrived to Ecuador for the first time. Yachay Tech is among the nine universities competing in this edition that seeks to contribute to solving refugee’s dignity problems.
The overall goal of this event is to give students the opportunity to solve real world problems thorough innovation and entrepreneurship, also to remind the importance of this two perspectives as transversal lines on Yachay Tech’s education. Mushuna seeks to prove how fundamental it is for the Academy and the Corporation to work collaboratively. Simone Belli and Joan Baltá, the faculty members in charge of Mushuna, are expecting to count with a great amount of student participation.
