Viviana Morera, Ph.D., faculty of the School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering of Yachay Tech, organized a meeting with Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellows in Ecuador. The meeting was held on February 25, 2019, in the Yachay Tech University campus, and was attended by several academics from national and international institutions.
During their visit, the researchers held a meeting with Chancellor Joaquín Brito, Ph.D., and went on a campus tour around the University. They also held meetings with representatives from the 5 Schools where they learned about all the majors and lines of research of the university, with the purpose of establishing interinstitutional cooperation mechanisms to benefit students. Visitors also went to the Yachay Botanical Garden, the Quinde Supercomputer and the FabLab, in Yachay EP.
The meeting was attended by representatives of various universities: University of Ohio (United States); Technical University of Munich, University of Leipzig, University of Applied Sciences of Munich (Germany); Institute of Biotechnology of UNAM (Mexico); Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and the Andes Kinkuna S.A company (Ecuador).
The researchers also attended the international symposium “RECENT ADVANCES OF IN CHEM/BIO RESEARCH”, organized by the School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering and the School of Biological Sciences and Engineering of Yachay Tech. The symposium took place a few days before the fellows’ visit to the University.
