The Dean of the School and the Rector attended Dalia Cabada’s thesis defense, where she obtained her degree in Mathematics.
Dalia Cabada became the first and only Mathematics graduate at Yachay Tech University. For her capstone project, Dalia worked on the demonstration of solutions for systems of semi linear equations, considering many factors that affect the stability of the system. The Mathematics investigation was supervised by Hugo Leiva, Ph.D., dean of the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences. In addition, Dalia’s thesis defense included the participation of Hermann Mena, Ph.D., rector of Yachay Tech, who expressed his admiration for the work done.
Dalia’s degree work sought to determine the existence of solutions for systems of semi linear equations affected by phenomena intrinsic to the systems and to test the controllability of said system. This had not been done before in this type of system, so her research breaks down barriers and opens the way to solving more complex problems. In this sense, the work team presented three scientific publications that are currently pending approval.
For Dalia, the importance of studying controllability relies on the fact that it allows working with unstable systems and controlling them. On the other hand, for Hermann Mena, Ph.D., Dalia’s study and her potential scientific publications are proof of the quality of the research that Yachay Tech students are capable of carrying out. In this sense, the Rector highlights the three scientific publications that Dalia produced from this research, as it is an unusual amount for an undergraduate student.
