Authorities and faculty of the School of Agricultural and Agroindustrial Sciences of Yachay Tech visited the automated greenhouse of the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP). The visit was attended by Dr. Andrés Rosales, Rector of Yachay Tech, Manuel Caetano, Academic Vice Rector, Kleber Quimbiulco, Dean of the School of Agricultural and Agroindustrial Sciences, INIAP officials and faculty of Yachay Tech.
The purpose of the visit was to exchange educational experiences and learn about the methodologies and learning environments based on the uniqueness of learning by doing Agroindustrial.
The greenhouse that they visited has a Biotechnology Laboratory section, where the test tubes containing small vitro plants that correspond to the initial phase of the process are located; and a Hydraulic System section, where the automated part is located and where the nutrient solutions that supply the entire greenhouse are filtered and distributed.
INIAP presented an innovative technological alternative that will allow Ecuadorian producers and different universities in the country to access high impact research, more resistant and with a significant improvement in production. Andrés Rosales, Rector of Yachay Tech, congratulated the work done with INIAP authorities and the Instituto Agropecuario Superior Andino (ESPE-IASA), which will generate joint collaborative actions for future agricultural and agroindustrial research.
With these actions, we highlight the approaches with different public and private institutions in the country that allow students and faculty to acquire more knowledge every day and to put it into practice in the academia to solve community needs.
