The event, promoted by the UNDP and the Vice Presidency of Ecuador, had the objective of analyzing the application of the SDGs in Ecuador.

Jorge Gómez, Ph.D., faculty of the School of Earth Sciences, Energy and Environment of Yachay Tech University and director of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN – Andes) attended the event My World 2030, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Vice Presidency of Ecuador. The event was held on July 11, 2019, at the auditorium of the Museo Antropológico de Arte Contemporáneo (MAAC in Spanish), in Guayaquil.
The objectives of the event were to emphasize the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mention the commitment of the Ecuadorian government to meet these objectives, and ask representatives of the public and private sector, the Academia, and public in general to make efforts to fulfill them. The meeting was attended by Otto Sonnenholzner, Vice President of Ecuador, César Litardo, President of the National Assembly of Ecuador, Juan Fernando Velasco, Minister of Culture and Heritage, Matilde Mordt, Representative of the UNDP in Ecuador, Katherine Acosta, President of the Chamber of Industries of Guayaquil, and Bianca Dager, Director of the Green Latin America Awards Foundation.
The event was also attended by other authorities from the private and public sectors, and the Academia. In the end, while children from some schools of Guayaquil presented their ideas, attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas.
