Yachay Tech representatives participate in Mr. UTA Competition

The sports competition was open to competitors from across the country and had different categories in bodybuilding.

Óscar Yanchatuña, student of the School of Biological Sciences and Engineering, and Diego Méndez, sports promoter of Yachay Tech, participated in the Interuniversity Competition Mr. UTA, organized by Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The sports competition included the Bodybuilding, Classic, and Men’s Physique categories. Both competitors participated in the last category, where Diego Méndez won third place. The competition was open to competitors from across the country and took place at the Culture and Sports Center of UTA, on July 5, 2019.

The Men’s Physique category was evaluated by the following criteria: ripping, proportion, posing, and appropriate attire. In this sense, competitors must have an athletic physique that is aesthetically pleasing. Likewise, judges rate presence on stage, trust, and the ability to perform the regulatory positions properly.

Yachay Tech University has a Bodybuilding Club that promotes this type of sports activities both internally and nationwide.
