The student will be in charge of the fourth edition of the event at the University.

Hult Prize, the world’s largest competition for young people, with a social focus, will have its fourth edition at Yachay Tech University. Each year, several University teams compete for a place in the Hult Prize regionals and the possibility of winning 1 million dollars. This year, the Campus Director of the program is Lizbeth Zamora.

Hult Prize is a competition held worldwide in four stages: On campus, where teams of students compete on their university campus to obtain a place in the next stage; Regional competitions, where winning teams from university campuses will face teams from all over the world; Accelerator of Hult Prize, a competition to prepare them for the final, through a 5-week intensive program, in which the winning teams of the regional stage receive advice from experts; and the last stage consists of a presentation of the six finalists at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The projects presented by students must be focused on solving a challenge that the world competition organization will propose. Campus Directors should socialize this challenge and prepare teams to compete on equal terms, hence why organizers are selected based on their leadership skills. In that sense, Lizbeth has extensive experience as coordinator of the YT Ambassadors program (which brings science to schools) and as part of the group of Future Leaders at Shaping Horizons, the youth summit of Cambridge University.

Yachay Tech University has had outstanding participation in past competitions. Carlos López, the first Hult Prize Campus Director at Yachay Tech, was recognized for his work and was invited to the regional competitions. Similarly, the Innomaps team, winner of the third edition of the competition on campus, was a finalist in the San Francisco regional (United States) and won a place in the Hult Prize Accelerator. Innomaps was the only Ecuadorian team to reach this stage in the last edition.
