ABOUT THE PROJECT

Institutions immersed in international cooperation acknowledge the need to connect cooperation in cultural, scientific and social matters to improve transversal interaction and visibility and to emphasize significant initiatives that benefit civil society.

The project began last April, 2016, and is expected to last 3.5 years.

Activities, structure, results

Activities to be developed as part of the project will allow:

  • To analyze the role of social and political actors in the promotion of cultural, social and scientific exchange and to promote a more intensive and enriching social collaboration at bilateral and bi-regional levels within the framework of relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • To propose a set of actions and initiatives of high impact to strengthen cooperation.
  • To address institutions, researchers, experts and actors responsible for public policies in both regions through the dissemination of research results, publications that arise from the project, activities, and conferences that take place throughout the project and that will allow to build connections to activate pilot initiatives.

EULAC Focus will allow for the strengthening of the common vision between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean while shaping the cultural, scientific and social dimensions of these bi-regional relations thus reinforcing Strategic Association.
