The opening ceremony for the first academic term of Leveling 2023 was held at the Innópolis Entrepreneurship Center. This time we welcomed 384 new leveling students who will begin their university life at Yachay Tech. The main authorities of the university welcomed the students as they’ll be the ones in charge of promoting and developing science and technology in different fields of research.
Vice Chancellor for Research Manuel Caetano, Ph.D. opened the event stating: “We are a creative academic community, full of ideas, and each semester we train new generations focused on science, technology and innovation.”
Ph.D. Andrés Rosales, rector of Yachay Tech stated: “Starting today, this University will be your second home for the next 5 years. We hope your time here is filled with pleasant experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life. Here you will meet many people: professors who will leave their mark and, without a doubt, friends who will last a lifetime. We welcome you with open arms to this university community and we hope that your time here gets to be a great life experience”.
The first academic leveling term will be held in person on campus, from July 10, 2023 to November 17, 2023. During this time, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their academic foundations through courses like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Writing and Reading Comprehension, and English. These courses are essential for their comprehensive development and to effectively face the challenges of their future careers.
Once students successfully pass this leveling term, they will move on to the first semester of their academic program. They’ll be fully prepared and equipped with the necessary knowledge to advance towards their degree in any of the 10 programs offered by the University: Chemistry, Materials, Physics, Nanotechnology, Biology, Biomedicine, Mathematics, Computing, Geology, Food Agro-Industry.
Academic Vice Rector Judith Vanegas highlighted the importance of leveling and the role it plays in the university with outstanding faculty at a national and international level.
Finally, the rector mentioned: “From day one we are committed to working on your training, so that throughout these years of study, you obtain the necessary knowledge for your professional life. Thus, from now on, I encourage you to commit to hard work. I invite you to turn knowledge into a weapon for life. I invite you to create knowledge”.
